Good morning, my dear readers. No more posts until after Easter, it’s my habit to spend Good Friday in prayer. Some readers suggested Thursday is for Thoughts as Thursday’s theme, and in a way I’m going to do that.
I’m going to share my thought here. Only on Thursdays, I promise!
My most recent health crisis ended about 2 a.m. today. I’m grateful that it’s over, and as always my deepest thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. There’s been some new mild motor impairment— there always is, and I always learn how to handle it. The “new normal”, to borrow a phrase from Covid.
This time the cognitive impairment (also mild, thankfully) has affected my ability to think sequentially, as in following the “Put tab A in slot B” kind of instructions. I can no longer find the slot Bs. But that is no impediment to creative work — just look at Philip K Dick. Of course, I do not pretend to have the kind of talent which enables a creator to transform personal pain into a new art form, as he did; but whilst I still can, I should be putting words onto paper more often.
Everyone who is waiting for me to deliver something, I promise that I will get to it. Eventually. Luck of the Irish Goodies Prizes will be sent right after the Easter break.
Have a wonderful Easter everyone.
Hello Cindy, thank you so much for being my staunch supporter and becoming my very first Kate's Book Club subscriber. I am Upgrading you to Founder Member status, you get all the goodies! At least you will when Substack links up the Book Club Pages - they haven't done that yet, I just checked. You could be pardoned for thinking that they'd make the links BEFORE taking payment, but hey! that's online marketing for you! If the links still aren't Live on Tuesday I will personally make everything available for you at another site, as a one-off. I am delighted to Welcome you to Kate's Book Club, and sooo glad that I decided on this super-simple alternative way to publish. Once all the setup is complete, going this route will give me more time to write. Thank you for your prayers, always gratefully received, and I hope that you get back the ability to knit soon. Hey, you WILL get there! When, as a pedestrian, I got hit by a truck, the doctors said I wouldn't walk again. Well, I'm a-walkin' now, girl!
Wishing you a blessed Easter Kate 🙏💕
